Oyibi Chief calls for peaceful festival celebration

Nii Borlabi Kukubi Okanshan VI, Chief of Oyibi, has called on the people of Oyibi to demonstrate a high level of tolerance to ensure that there is always peace in the town.

He said as they were about to celebrate the “Oyibi yɛlɛ yeli ” festival, there was the need for the people to champion the cause of unity, togetherness and peace to ensure a successful celebration.

Nii Borlabi Kukubi Okanshan made the call in an interaction moments in the Oyibi community which is under the juridiction of the Kpone Katamanso District Assembly,on Thursday in connection with this year’s celebration of the festival.

The festival which begins from Nungua with the Nungua Mankralo stool as superior to that of Oyibi.

He appealed to his people to desist from acts which might ruin the peace the community is enjoying.

Nii Borlabi Kukubi Okanshan said the traditional council has delevelopmental community agenda with the Assembly and very soon all will come to light.

He urged the people to remain calm in this Covid 19 period and take advantage of opportunities provided to enable them to expand their businesses.

He appealed to the government and non-governmental organizations to come to the aid of the community by providing them with a hospital, market, vocational and technical schools.

Nii Boye Dadensdodza II,Oyibi Aboabo sub- Chief, who is also a member of the Oyibi Divisional Council said with the inauguration of the Council, he and his team would work hard to ensure that more revenue was generated to develop the community.
